About shooting outside - yes, very refreshing, but you have to choose the locations carefully. I think that in the end VT got a bit lazy shooting all the time in the same gardens in Portugal: the scenes lost much of their atmosphere simply because of the repetitive backgrounds. That is what Jo excelled in on idreamofjo - her exterior locations were brilliant and appropriate.

Hey Mimi ! Sorry to hear that - I think she is still gorgeous, and one of the things I love about keeping on with the older performers is that they 'mature' so beautifully. There is something extra sensual about the slightly fuller figure, for example. And Margot's breasts, if one must mention them, still enthralling me.
Love this as a perfect Christmas gift. Sybil and Michelle are a perfect couple, and their warmth and enjoyment is wonderfully captivating. Must confess that the hand in the pants moment is always a great start and widely sexy. Particularly, to hope that SA and VT can bring back some of our favourite performers who are still available. Blue Angel is back and has done some excellent gg for DDF, ALS, and Laly - surely the invite must have reached her by now ? And some of the top VT team are still working but not appearing on Metart - Zafira and Brandy Smile, for instance - even Eve Angel appeared on Lesbea earlier this year. And another plea to see if you get the best of the N American performers over here - Bree Daniels, Shyle Jennings, Georgia Jones, Jenna Sativa, Serena Blair would top my list. I am sure that an fascinating series could be constructed around these visitors. One of Jimena's best scenes - these two work so well together. And hey ! I love the framing. If you are going to shoot widescreen, the conventional balance within the frame disappears. Andrej is very creative in his framing, and I liked that the girls were hidden from time to time, it seemed to give them some power over the camera and our expectations. And each time the scene progressed, Andrej gave us another framing to work on, including the high angle shot over Nataly's shoulder looking down at Jimena in the tub. Wonderful !

Such a beautiful film - Andrej as ever gives the performers so much time to explore their feelings and anticipate the passion. I love these slow, slow builds. And Ariel, you find the best girls and the best pairings - these two look as though they really are in a relationship - perhaps quite early on, maybe this is first time they have taken time off together, and have the time to explore who they are and how they feel about each other. Great use of the mirror, they seem to be using it to confirm their relationship - and the quick look at the mirror right at the end, beautiful.
I have no problem with the tats, so many young women - and men- have them, and in a way it makes the scene more real. This should not have anything to do with whether a model works for Sexart or not, in my view. Both of their (different)personalities come across strongly, and Arteya's skin art is a part of that.

I was just a bit concerned that Leila reacted so harshly to their failure and abandoned Vanessa, after the intensity of their passion the night before. Chill out, girl, it's only a game ! And then she allowed herself to be seduced, essentially betrayed her girlfriend who she seemed to be so close to. Am I being a bit moralist ? No, it's just that it didn't ring true, and troubled me for the rest of the scene. At Least Margot and Alexis stayed together and comforted each other, even though they argued.

Finally caught up on this fabulous series - truly, Ariel and Andrej make the most sensual, seductive, and emotionally spot on films anywhere. Juts a great, great scene, and huge shout out to A and V - you are both fabulous, wonderful and such fun. I hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as it seemed. It must be great work on the material that Andrej gives you.
As to _fer_realz_ complaint about tracking he camera behind foreground objects, this does not bother me particularly. I see it as a kind of visual palette cleansing, restoring the sense of depth and 3-dimensiality, and also allowing us to step back a bit from time to time. I think that it works in the sense that it relieves the pace a bit, helps to vary the pace: it's a kind of punctuation, perhaps. So I take it as it comes.

This is such a promising start. My only quibble is the male presence in the form of the game controller: too much like Charlie's Angels. This is a group of fabulous, strong women who don't need a male controller to play out the story.
Having said that, what a great cast, and Alexis and Margo really get it going. Alexis is so cute and warm-hearted, and Margot is the perfect older (?) lover. Their interaction is delightful and has a serious undertone which makes the lovemaking quite breathtaking. You really feel the love as they settle down for the night. Adele, great editing as usual, your ability to control and vary the pace is excellent.
Ariel and Andrej are the best creative team on MetArt; they manage to portray believable relationships and real feelings. And you are blessed with some of the best, most committed performers in the business. Alexis, Margot, thank you so much !
A beautiful film with real grace and passion. This is an example of the wonderful qualities of films by team Ariel/Andrej. Terrific casting which shows an understanding of the emotional and erotic potential of each of the performers, and how they might work off each other. Wow Ariel, how do you manage to get Blue Angel back on the screen ? I love her slightly fuller figure which she has been showing us for the last year. For me, and I think many fans, she is one of the all-time greats of lesbian film, up there with Eufrat, Peaches, Lisa, etc. And although she has worked in many b/g scenes, her work with other women has always been absolutely special.
This film oozes sensuality, and both women are phenomenal. This leave me breathless. Thank you Ariel and Andrej - and may I make my usual shout out for Adele, who edits this seamlessly as usual - keepin'' the flow going !

Very very erotic, and indeed very Sapphic in the 1920s/30s style. Such an attention to detail, and the whole thing wonderfully fluid. Antonia and Meggie played it perfectly, and Meggie's gradual complicity in the the seduction is wonderful. A fascinating play on the usual male photographer, female model 'victim', this gives it extra depth and fascination. I was entranced almost throughout, and gripped by their relationship. The sense of queerness played out behind closed doors is amazing. Andrej and Ariel have done such a good job.
Just one boring critique - I don't think the photographers in the period evoked would have used a Retina camera, it would most likely have been larger format using longer exposure times. The noise of the shutter did not sound right. I would not make that comment if everything else had not been near perfect.

I am very happy with the interaction between Hennessy and Nataly. Nataly is less forward than Hennessy, but that happens in relationships. She certainly receives very nicely, and I would love to see more of her. For me, the connection was very much there. The pairing is excellent - this is a classic APF and AL collaboration: young women who seem to have a real relationship, everything natural and flowing. Loved the lack of make-up, natural nails (for once !), and mega-normal clothes. All believable and very very sexy. Thank you Nataly and Hennessy, you are both gorgeous and wonderful actors, and you seemed to enjoy yourselves !

At that time, there was a lot of discussion about the sand, and I think I made a comment about the blackness of sand enhancing the effect of dangerous love, on the brink of pain.
Fantastic to get Ariel's comments about locations, and I can understand from the models' point of view. Jo's erotic explorations of the countryside on idreamofjo.com were incredible, and so liberating - quite magical.

This is my first encounter with the Heat series, and my first thought is that it is very "Alis', with its jazz and complex timeline. I don't normally like this kind if abstracted, formally erotic opening - 6 minutes of it, so was relieved to find that the sex is intense and satisfying. I then looked back at the 2 earlier scenes, and found much the same. So I will look again at the opening, but suspect that I will still find the gyrating and 'teasing' an irritation. No doubt some will say that it is essential to the film, but I wonder ....
Tracy talks at the start about the filming being difficult, I guess because of the fragmented timeline; in the end, she does brilliantly, even though it must be more difficult without working to a straightforward story. Actors in mainstream film say the same thing. So full marks to Tracy and Alexa - who does brilliantly too.

Love this ! Roxy is really getting into the spirit of things, and reminds me so much of Samantha Bentley, in that she knows how to keep it real, and has that kind of earthy but sensual physique. Tracy is excellent too, in this scene. A great pairing, Ariel, you know so well how to bring the right performers together. This series is looking great, and it has so many of the things that the previous film lacks. Loved the setting, at one point I was hoping that they were going to climb up into the top bunk. Everything so natural and credible ....
Andrej, you are so good at passion and spontaneity. Sometimes I think that male directors are not good at harnessing female passion, but you are certainly the exception and have always been. Thank you !

I agree about the artful opening - quite unnecessary and distracting. If it was meant to look like film, it didn't succeed, so what was it ? But on to more important things:
Anissa and Ariel's rush to get their clothes off was exciting and promised something much more intense - SexArt is really good at impromptu sex. But a couple of minutes in, and the pace had slowed to zero, and the excitement had evaporated. Not helped by discovering that they are in a very grand apartment full of 'designer' stuff which further took the edge off things. It would have been much more attracting to have had them in a more 'real' setting. I agree with Rose - both girls look fabulous, but in spite of Ariels' cooing and sighing, I didn't pick up much between them. And making them make love on the arm of a chair or something similar does not help - a more natural setting like a sofa or bed , even the floor, would have been better.
I love Anissa and Ariel, but the direction was at fault here.

Totally enchanting. The intro on the bridge is beautifully done, they look so natural together, and the music is just wonderful. The remainder of the scene builds slowly, and something that begins tentatively really does build up and become much more passionate than I expected. Neither Angella nor Christin seem to have appeared for MetArt before, but they are so nat ease and natural, it seems that they are used to be being with girls, or at least enjoy it. A scene like this makes it natural to hope for more of this story, with these two beautiful people.
A bit more talking earlier on would have been nice, but I know that it is not always easy to make dialogue sound natural.

Beautifully set - I never knew that cooking programmes could be so sexy; I suppose all that chopping, cutting and bashing must come from somewhere. The design and lighting was lightly theatrical, and the break into passion on the sofa almost came as a shock - a beautiful scene, so beautiful that I had to pinch myself to remember that this is about sex and desire.
Kari is just incredibly beautiful and like Suzy Carina, has started to take more of a leading role recently. Her Lady series on VT was a brilliant exercise in restrained passion.
I became increasingly absorbed once I had got over the design aspect, and Kari and Linda worked beautifully together (you see, yet more beauty). Their momentum was spoiled when Kari's climax was only shown on her face - quite a major disappointment, in fact. But the scene recovered, and ended - well, beautifully. They both took the scene over and made it their own.
And beautifully edited - thank you Adele !

Firstly, Lola is proving to be an outstanding performer. Here she really took command, from the moment that she started to relent in the opening scene, to the way she looked at Ariel while she was undressing, etc. She has a way of engaging with her partners which is direct, playful, and serious. Terrific. And their connection was very powerful from the start - thank you Lola and Ariel ! I really enjoyed your connection.
The piece is a bit short - nothing wrong in that necessarily, but the slow start promised a bit more, and (going back to the way Lola looked at Ariel undressing) I had hoped for more time with each of them appreciating the other's bodies/sensuality. This was supposed to be a make-up, after all.
So while the whole piece is alluring and enjoyable, more could have been made of the set-up.
A couple of minor points. It can be a bit worrying when the performers have nail extensions, but it would be interesting to hear from our female fans if this an issue, or is it just a variant on the male castration complex ? The other point was the quantity of candles - it would have taken them a long time to light them all, which is unlikely in the situation, so it rather took away from the 'reality' of the scene. Plus I could not help wondering if there was a stand-by fireman/woman on set ....

Thank you for responding, Rose. And I understand what fear-realz is saying about the 'new girls' on VT. I am not saying that they are not good - it is interesting to have this range of performers, and they have done well within the constraints of the stories they have been given. I am still catching up on some of the film I missed since December, and some are showing their worth - Lady, the Messages series, Venice, and Gym are good - and I mean the less well known performers as well as the established ones like Tracy, Kiara, and Eva.
But here is a question - all the MetArt directors are men, and that has an influence, I think. Viv had a real talent for bringing out his performers' sensuality in a genuine way, he encouraged them to develop their sensual personalities, whatever the actual story - this often went beyond the stories. And this is what is lacking at the moment, apart from the outstanding performers like Tracy.
How about bringing in some women directors ? Jo has shown such creative talent on her site - now sadly closed. Her films for VT were excellent, particularly Discreet Services. And Sandra has also directed successfully. The success of Sweetheart video is largely based on the work of their women directors, particularly Dana Vespoli. And Lorena did some excellent work here on SexArt. So this a challenge !

Ariel, I meant to say, before starting my comments on the problems with VT, that Lady Dee is very beautiful and has a quiet sensuality that is hugely attractive. And Lucy Li is becoming incredibly voluptuous, almost like Zafira. I have seen her scenes on Lesbea with Eufrat, and was very happy to see her again here. It would be great to have more from both of these sexy women.
Very beautiful, although the intro went on a bit too long, particularly with the distorting mirrors. Something about the restrained passion in the bath was very erotic.
Interesting to read the comments bout how VT should be: the reality is that SexArt has not changed, but has continued to produce very high quality, thought through films that stretch the narrative forms in interesting ways. What has changed is VT, and I am not sure you can do much about that if the core group of performers, whose personalities and presence were so strong over the years, are no longer there or are not being used. There was an undercurrent of real lesbian erotica in the classical VT years - some them were in lesbian relationships - Peaches & Gina, Jo and Eve - others were 'out' bi-sexuals, and VT offered intriguing insights into their lives as performers through the many BTS episodes, plus series like the 'sex - with peaches, lisa, jo & eve' etc, and Shades of Blue, Peaches online series etc. None of that exists any more, and most of the new performers do not have that kind of personality. So it is not clear how VT should differentiate itself from SexArt. The recent series have abandoned any attempt at story and place, and have become monotonous in many respects, and have not being developing any sense of personality or character.
OK, I hadn't seen the earlier scene between Bella & Nick. But the sense of Bella's unrequited search remains the same, I think. Eva and Bella had a scene together in the VT Dominance series: Bella has quite a special sense of containment seeking a (difficult) release in her work - you get the sense that she is never fully satisfied emotionally.

Love the rap !!
SexArt parties seem to be a lot of fun, for the women at least. The song suggests this may be more than a quick fumble and tumble, for Bella at least - maybe we will see more of this. Parties are always hard to film convincingly, and Andrej is right to keep it short and snappy, but the the encounter between Eva and Bella is well handled, not too obvious or overstated. The sex has a rawness - the single lamp, blue flashing light through the window, and Bella has a classical (maybe stereotypical) Eastern European look that could be from a spy film set in the 40's, suggesting an emotional hardness that is trying to find a release.For Eva it may just be a bit of fun, but for Bella it seems that it may be part of a longer search. Eva arrives at the part with a boyfriend, Bella seems to be alone. I like the resonance here. Sometimes desperation needs an outlet, even if there little romance.
Many interesting comments, particularly about the overall sequence, such as haley's suggestion that it goes Tracy, Lola, Alexa. I'm not sure about this - it could be as simple as Mango being hurt so badly by the the breakup with Lola that she becomes unable to sustain a long-term loving relationship. _fer_realz_'s thoughts about what has happened between Mango and Tracy are interesting - certainly, there seem to be moments in this scene where Tracy shows doubts about Mango's commitment/motivation - that short moment when she is waiting for Mango to insert her finger, her look is suddenly suspicious, wary.Is it Tracy who has decided to end the relationship, or Mango who has not been able to give Tracy the commitment she needs ?
What is true is that this series has entered emotional territory that is rarely explored in erotic film: the breakdown, final or temporary, of significant relationships. VT's Unfaithful series was based on the on-off affair between Lisa and Nella, and ended in Unfaithful 6 with the extraordinary scenes where Lisa, several years after she lost Nella, has become embittered and alcoholic, and tries to find love in a series of one-night stands. These scenes were also Lisa's last as a model, which gave them an extra resonance, and were extraordinarily courageous. Then Jo's Passion series based on her on-camera relationship with Eve Angel (heightened by their real life relationship) which went through betrayal and distraction, but ended with redemption.
These complicated emotional contexts give the sexual side a really fascinating erotic edge, and gets very close to the pain and confusion that can be felt in real relationships. Even though the underlying narrative may not be absolutely clear here, it is so refreshing to see this area being opened up and explored - and Tracy and Mango have responded with such insight and sensitivity. A fabtastic job from both of them. It would be good to hear from them what they about it all.

Perhaps she is reminded of Alexa doing the same, and is thinking about the difference in outcome. Perhaps she is happy that Lola is leaving, creating a space in which Alexa might return.

Let's see if it reappears in a 3rd act. To be honest, while ambiguity in film is very attractive, you can't help looking for some kind of resolution or redemption.
Hi Rose, as I am sure that you and other SexArt colleagues are aware, there are quite mixed feelings coming across from feedback on the VT site. I was intrigued when I read a comment from Ariel posted on the Shards of Summer page, in which she mentions the need to produce lots of content for VT, and that this might have affected the output on SexArt. I think that far too much content has been produced for VT since the merger, and the quality on that site has definitely suffered. Storylines seem to to have been rushed, and some series, while technically skilled, have not focused enough on the difficult business of capturing real emotions and sensuality. It has been a very mixed bag, and some series have worked quite well - all the performers have worked hard and tried their best. But I wish the rate of production would slow down a bit, and more thought be put into creating something special. The 'old' VT would produce one scene a week at the most, and sometimes less when they were putting out a lot of BTS. Fortunately, SexArt has managed to maintain its quality - and I speak as someone who had to leave the site for a few months, and is still catching up. For me, the key quality that this kind of filmmaking needs is the ability to convey a sense of quiet, stillness, reflection, on which to build the stories and the erotic tension. If anyone needs to remind themselves how this is done, I recommend looking at The Art of Kissing 3 - my first astonished experience of VT. The first scene is between our beloved Ariel and the amazing Sylvie: nothing much seems to happen for at least minute, but slowly we are drawn in to their playful, sensual relationship; everything seems natural and unforced, utterly believable. VT was able to build up an incredibly strong team of performers over the years, who could take on almost anything. SexArt is managing to do that incredibly well, but it takes a core of really strong performers, and VT has lost that core. It needs to slow down and build things more slowly.

I hope there will be another part at least that might begin to answer some of the questions. Suitcases are definitely part of the emotional story here - maybe they represent the part of oneself that can never be fully given to the other.

This a very intriguing portrayal of memory and (apparent) loss, regret etc, and it manages to articulate these feelings while retaining and developing the sexual tension. In a way, there is no final release, which heightens the intrigue and one's attempt to understand better their relationship. What happened before, what will happen now, will there be an eventual coming together ?
This what the 'middle' period of VivThomas was so good at, in series like Unfaithful, and Jo in her Passion series. The power of performances by people like Lisa, Nella, Vera, and Jo herself, was based on their amazing ability to project desire laced with sadness, regret, frustration etc. Alex and Mango have captured this very well - it would be great to see them carry this on.

I love the simplicity of the piece, the directness. In that sense, it is a very powerful account of two women in love surrendering themselves to each other. Its lack of adornment is one of its strong points, and in that sense it is very satisfying. Both Jimena and Samia are terrific and work wonderfully together. Jimena may lack experience, but she has really flowered in this piece.
But I agree about the lack of spoken communication - even without subtitles, it can work to support the emotional context, and give us some of the background. As to the Unbroken theme, it needs more on the 'brokenness' to make it more relevant. In that sense, i agree with Hailey13.

Just a great great scene. Layla and Chloe are exceptionally natural together, and I love the easy transition from teasing talk into sex - so natural and also a kind of revelation of the real depth of their relationship. The sex is completely natural, no pressure to work their way through the various positions, so they manage to maintain the mood of playful (but deep) eroticism all the way through.
Sincerely, one the best scenes ever. Chloe and Lyla show themselves to be brilliant performers, and thank you Alis for keeping such a natural flow without seeking too many camera angles that could have interrupted the play.

The ease and naturalness between Tracy and Amarna does really stand out, plus the sense that they know what each other needs to get fulfilment.
I am sure that any other suggestions would be well received. I actually thought that some early Avril Lavigne could have been used here.
Two of the best performers in lesbian erotica - a great combination of Tracy's eastern european sensuality and Amarna's western european energy. Everything they do is believable and utterly committed. This suggests a series between Tracy and Amarna, falling in and out of love, along the lines of VT's Unfaithful series, or Jo's Passion sequences. I agree with Hayley13's comment about being based in a city; Barcelona could be the new Budapest. The urban settings give the stories more depth and context, more connection with everyday life.
When I saw the running time, I was a bit concerned that there might not be enough time, but the way Tracy and Amarna work meant a really complete piece. Again, a sequel should really follow, their relationship could develop in so many ways.
Just one other comment: yet again we have a film about desire between women introduced with a male rock song. For me, that gives the film an unwelcome suggestion of the male gaze. There are so many fantastic female bands out there, surely you can find something that represents the female voice ?
I am in two minds - the choreography of the scene is excellent, and manages to play on the physicality of the women - very slender and long-limmned. But the sex was a bit sombre - no harm in that - but with little communication, and as a result the intensity faded for me.
Why the song from a male singer at the start ? Was this about the theme i.e. betrayal and regret i.e. the betrayal at the end of the film ? It was strange to hear this passionate male voice over so much of the start of the film. There are plenty of women singers who could have provided the right emotions.

Taylor and Sophie are fantastic together, and could easily carry a mini-series. You just need to decide if this is the start, or is there another beginning ?
Much as I love the relationship between them, I found the constant intercutting a distraction - it held back on any complete passion being expressed. I am all for experimentation and disrupting or stretching the timeline, but in this case I found it took away from the full potential of the connection between the two.
Having said that, there was much to like here - the constraints of the car worked to the advantage of the story, and heightened the tension. And this is a partnership that could run and run .....

Overall a great film. Alyssa has really flowered in the last six months or so, she has so much more confidence. maybe her acting lessons since she returned to Canada are having an effect. Loved her voice over, relevant and well-judged. And Aiko is to die for, she reminds me of Judy Smile - that quiet charm concealing a focused sensuality. The transition between grief and desire was well handled and credible by both of them. Excellent editing, Adele ! This shows how deep narratives can be established in short films.
The music at times was a bit overdone, something that often happens in SexArt films: however, it was appropriate and set the tone. But I was appalled by the silly nonsense over the credits, it completely undermined the feelings established by the end of the story, Please don't do that again, it is self-indulgent and shows no regard for the audience !
A really excellent pieces that manages to avoid the usual pitfalls of shower scenes. It develops naturally, and the relationship between them is very well paced. Tracy is showing real versatility these days, and nuances her performance very convincingly - their different personalities is well brought out. Well done Don, and Lorena for the edit.
This scene reminds us of the power and relevance of the single film, whether on its own or as part of a series. There is so much more that we can read into the story when it is not overburdened with complex narratives ......

I too was concerned about the difficulties of mixing sand and sex, but it is a tribute to the intelligence and commitment of Ariel and Lorena that it actually worked. Films set up a number of challenges, technical/creative and narrative, and by overcoming them you start to establish credibility and draw in the audience. As the scene progresses the tension between the heavy black sand, and the damage that it could do, and the fierce eroticism of the women, becomes very powerful, and could be seen as a metaphor for the challenges of love and desire - perhaps (!). It is important that the sand is heavy and black, and that becomes a very powerful interaction by the end of the film, and heightens the sense of the erotic and the passion of the women. It is also a contrast to the lightness of the opening sequence; for that reason I was slightly disappointed that when Ariel and Lorena changed places, the dancing around was re-introduced. I would have preferred that we stay in the moment of passion overcoming the physicality of the beach.
This is Lorena at her best, creating lightness and strength through the force of her beauty, personality and intelligence. And it is wonderful to see how Ariel uses her relative maturity as a foil for Lorena's brilliance, without at anytime taking away from the equality of their relationship. Fantastic !

Jenny truly radiates beauty, charm and affection, and really focuses these seductive weapons on her partners, and for that alone I would value this film, and all her work so far. The opening sequence was absolutely delightful and introduced the couple and their relationship very well. The sex side was a bit tentative, and was not helped by the rather stark lighting in the bathroom and the hardness of the rock (honestly !). But Candy saved the day with some vigorous work on jenny at the end.
I would love to see Jenny with someone more demanding - Lorena, Whitney, Suzie for instance. This does not mean that her partnership with Candy does not work, but it was fairly low-key. Candy definitely has potential ....
Finally: you shot with Red and DSLR - why not shoot the whole thing on Red ? The harshness/flatness of the lighting in the bathroom was probably partly due to the DSLR, plus general over-lighting.

I am in agreement with many of these points- good work from Lorena and Maya, potentially an electric pairing. But much of the physical/spatial relationship between then seems to be occupied with the attempt to contain all the action on the table, contributing in part to the sense of detachment and lack of direct contact between them. And it seems that the unusual length of the music could have been partly prompted by the need to cover a lot of knocking and banging as they settled on the table. In other words, the setting seemed to constrain what they could do. I hope that we can see them together again soon, but in a more natural setting which allows them to really explore each other. Maya's films on SexArt generally manage to show a stronger side of her personality that when she appears on other sites, but this was an opportunity lost, I am afraid.

The matching of Jenny and Paula is fascinating - two women well past the experimenting younger womans' phase. Paula continues to intrigue in her move to gg, and Jenny grows in confidence as a committed erotic performer. This may not be the most intense or sensual of films, but it was satisfying as well as intriguing, and I liked the overall rhythm - thank you Andrej and Adele. This film shows how what is implied can carry equal weight to what is seen, and the questions raised about their relationship keep the interest going to the end. The opening and closing teasers work very well, and suggest answers to the questions: they also help to place the relationship in a day to day context. I will certainly watch this again, and look forward to seeing their work again.

I love this film, and am very happy with the length and timing. Suzie is a very special performer, who brings such openness and grace, and I agree with swplf2 that working with the older generation brings something special. The casting here is excellent - thanks to APF. Jenny Simons is charming, pretty with a great smile, and connects very well with Suzie. They needed the length of time to develop the relationship, and they both managed to maintain an intimate focus all the way - that is something that Suzie excels at. Well done Andrej, Suzi, Jenny and Adele.
My point about unsurprising etc was more a reflection on the intense reaction to Lorena'a and Bambi's film: this film is absolutely solid, and that is welcome. But there are other approaches within the SexArt tradition which push the boundaries a bit more, and I welcome that too.

I know they take a lot of work = time, but some phrases at least would help to establish the relationship and personalities.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to the many questions raised about this film, and it is very helpful to be reminded that everyone is always experiencing and learning. Because the films come out in a steady progression, it is tempting to think of them as part of a long process, when in fact you make the point that in many cases they are shot in a short period, without much time for reflexion between them.
The relationship between yourself and Brandy was excellent, and the lack of a clear narrative introduction made us invent our own contexts and background, and I have often said that this should not be seen necessarily as a problem. Some of us come from professional backgrounds and are inclined to be a bit picky about details of the set and the shooting: in the end, each film is a journey, and we love and respect the energy and imagination that you put into it. For me, SexArt is a continuing journey, and it is wonderful that you as a performer have made the commitment to develop the other crafts in the filmmaking. I think a general comment has been that we have missed you over the last two months or so !
Your comments have reminded us that filmmaking is always an experiment, and I don't think in any way this film failed.

I agree with most of your points, which I why I proposed that perhaps this was the end of a very long night in a scruffy club - or maybe it wasn't, in which most of your points are valid. The shooting was very four square, not many diagonals if at all, and if there was an implied narrative about time, place, relationship, it was confused in the distracting setting. So a lot of what was very good in the scene was diluted and the impact lost.
However, I also agree with desertrat. Often when these issues arise, I try to make it all work anyway, and ambiguity is at the heart of film. But it would be good to hear from the team.

It is great to have Lorena back - don't let her go for so long next time. And Brandy - she is such an underrated performer, but has done wonderful work on idreamofjo in particular, although she has tended to be overlooked.
About this film - we are left guessing as to their relationship because of the lack of an intro. Looking at the candles placed next to the windows (and therefore not effective) I concluded that this was the end of a very long night, and given the decor, which looked like a club or bar with the black paint, purple velvet sofa, wooden benches etc, maybe they are a waitress and dancer ? If not, why the fishnet ?
The scene rightly starts slowly, but did not really build to the intensity that the notes suggest. The main driver for me was Brandy, who moved the pace on a couple of times in terms of the love making, but it tended to settle after that. It's still a great scene, and it is good to see Lorena taking things slowly for once. There is much to enjoy and linger on here.
Guessing again: DSLR ? If so, it works because someone has put colour into the scene, which DSLR requires.

But maybe too perfectly matched - it would be good to see Jenni with someone more dominant, say Eufrat or Lorena. Overall, a pleasing piece; while they seems to have a connection, there was not a lot of intensity, but I will always make time to watch two such gorgeous people enjoying their physical connection together.
Finally - let me guess - DSLR ? The tendency to a brown monochrome irritates the hell out of me ...... It does no favours to the performers or the story.

Alis'a films are always interesting, and are part of the great tradition of SexArt - to experiment, to present new performers, and find new angles for established performers, as here. Kari has done so much work for this and another sites, that it is refreshing to see her in a new context. What SexArt does brilliantly is to create 'little stories' that give a new context to the relationships, and edge to what is happening on the screen. Sometimes it is the start of a relationship, sometimes a moment in an established relationship, perhaps sometimes the end. It means that we are always looking forward to something fresh, unlike most other sites.
Having said that, I was not convinced by the TV show idea, and found the 'surveillance camera' bits unhelpful. And just as the girl were really getting into each other, they reverted to masturbation - it could have gone another stage in their attention to each other.
But am I disappointed ? No, I stick with SexArt for the differences and the intelligence.
I have previously made some rather dismissive remarks about the 'war in the Balkans' theme, and I still hold to that. But the quality of the work is of course very high, and the battle theme can give an edge to the sex, as it does here. But the emotional range could have been more emphasised. Are they friends who have chosen opposite sides, or do they just get off with guns and uniforms ? Some more emotional clues would have helped here.

But I believe that it is very important - if the visuals are not delivering enough, or are not reaching their full potential, then it detracts from the purpose and meaning of the film. Black hair that turns blue is not good, I think, and lack of full colour also does not help.
This is not something i am likely to raise again, but just as many contributors feel they should mention lighting, design, music, editing etc, the quality of the image should also be within the bounds of these discussions. But I promise that I won't mention codecs again .....

Thanks for replying - I am pleased to find out I guessed right. I have a bit of a down on DSLR, mostly because of the poor colour depth. Having done quite a lot of research on this, I find that most colourists/graders dislike it because of the relatively low data levels - they say that they can't 'do' anything with it. I have been running courses on HD cinematography, and putting Red and Alexa side by side and comparing them with DSLR, you see the limitations of the latter. Quite a good substitute for DSLR is the Canon C300, which has the 422 codec and therefore better colour, even though its data rate is about the same as DSLR. There is a fun little app called datacalc by CinePro.Dot, which shows the different data rates for most of the camera systems.
And by the way, I like Candy a lot - I'm sure she will do well in future films.

Mixed feelings - this is one that you have to work on. The structure is interesting, and apart from the odd sequence where they both touch themselves on their own, there was a logic that worked for me: passionate encounter, developed into scenes of sex early in a relationship, learning how to pleas each other. And Candy and Tea worked well together; it's a new relationship, they are still finding out ways to get close, was my reading. Maybe the relationship will not last long .....
On a technical note: you credit RED and DSLR cameras. My guess is that the scene in the laundry was shot on Red, and the bedroom on DSLR - right or wrong ? The bedroom scene suffered from some effects that have become quite common with DSLR i.e. black hair turning blue, and general lack of saturation. Some would say that is the result of 420 versus 422/444. Or did you mix DSLR with Red ?
Threesomes are difficult - at any one time, one person tends to be left with not much to do. This suffers from that lack of balance at the start, but it gets betters as it goes along, and they each get their turn in a convincing manner. But again, the quality of the visuals concerns me; flat lighting and desaturation take away much of the erotic potential, something that is unusual for SexArt, where the visuals are usually very good.

I agree to the extent that the Halloween set-up was unconvincing, and the visuals were a bit tawdry; desaturated images for a start, and the set is really token; and I agree about the editing, which may have had more to do with the shot selection. But after an awkward start, Dido and Alexis did begin to 'get into each other and the sex concluded well, with both girls convincing in their commitment.

Oh dear .... I find the genre of erotic thriller usually full of tedious and poorly conceived material, however well-executed and 'artistically' produced. In this case, the 'military' context suffers from the usual flaws - poor script, clichéd themes, general irrelevance - but the sex scenes are well done and engaging. So I guess I will have to suffer for my enjoyment ! This may sound harsh, but as soon as erotic films enter the realm of well trodden mainstream fodder, they risk losing credibility. This does not apply to all series, of course - Snow Fun worked very well -but it depends on the genre. Full marks, however, for the actors' commitment, and for the high standard of production.

Hmm .... ratings, ratings. Fickle things. If I like something, I always give it at least 9, because I know that some people are just mean !
This is a great little movie, and I have no problems with the transitions between scenes. We really don't need to show people moving from one location to another. And the editing was fine, I didn't notice what I would call any jump cuts i.e. something that is intended to disrupt the temporal flow. The opening was excellent, as was the bath scene. Charlese worked very well here, providing a nice contrast to Lorena's flirty/dominant personality. But the scene on the bed began to lose its momentum towards the end, and the girls appeared to disconnect a bit. But overall a great piece.
In spite of a very brief intro, Tracy and Tea were able to move effortlessly into a scene of great passion and physical/sexual commitment. This had a wonderful urgency, and both of them seemed committed to mutual pleasure. Tracy is becoming one of the rising stars, and she completely contradicts the old (bad) tendency of Czech/Hungarian models to pose and moan/grown at every turn. She has a directness that is very refreshing, and her physique seems to match her personality. There is always a danger when the scene moves quickly into hard sex that the momentum will not be sustained, but these two achieved 18 minutes of real passion and connection.
Just a thought - reflecting on a previous discussion about longer narratives; Tea and Tracy could be part of a future couple, paired perhaps with Lorena and Alex in a story of love and deception ....

Wow ! This is great - Luna is fabulous, and what lifts the scene out of the ordinary is the sense of transgression, of secrecy. Fantastic. Who or what is she looking at ? Is it her lover ? Is it a room full of delightful erotic memories ? Thjis shows what you can make out of a short film when it is done with imagination and grace. And once again, a great performance from Luna - straight down the middle.
About sound and silence - clearly some members are distracted by ambient sound, but it is hard to eliminate if you are not on a sound stage. It doesn't usually trouble me, but sometimes it is possible to add sounds that mediate a distracting background noise.
More important, I think, is the question of speech. I have always found a complete lack of audible communication a bit freaky, but equally, poorly delivered dialogue is probably worse. When the performers share the same language, some kind of audible communication is easier. So I guess it depends a lot on the performers and what makes sense and what comes more naturally for them.

Firstly, I was entranced by such an attractive couple - again, good casting. Their relationship seemed relaxed and playful, quite graceful, and if that isn't worth watching then we have become spoiled. The sex seemed to follow on from that. It's not always necessary to show 'screaming o's' - sex isn't always like that. But Zara seemed to be more laid back and less urgent that Violet - that's OK, and I would love to see her again in a scene that is more passionate. She is very beautiful and a great addition to SexArt. So I enjoyed this a great deal, and would to see both these young women in more gg scenes.

I am always happy when the music fades and we are left just with the physical expression of love, desire etc. Sometimes it takes too long for the music to fade, and for me this was the case here. Keeping the background (ambient) sounds makes it more real, provided they are not too prominent, and on the whole SexArt films create a good balance between the different sound elements.
Coming to this very late. I always fall in love with Judy within seconds of the start of each film. OK, this doesn't reach the heights, but it is satisfying, and I love the set !

I would not have know that this was Paula's first gg - the journey of performers as they mature is very interesting, and it is great that she has developed the confidence to switch genres. Hopefully she will continue this route.
Big shout for John H and Adele H - maintaining continuity and spatial coherence with so much played in mid shot and close up, plus the widescreen ratio is not easy, and usually drives the editor nuts ! This all worked very well - and again, the relationship between the girls was lovely and natural. Such fun.
I find this a fine completion of the story - each time Lorena tries to imagine her relationship with Alex, she finds that the new Alex has become more mature and assertive, more equal. Maybe that echoes a need in her own life - I think we are allowed to imagine that. The effect on their interaction is very marked, and in the final scene, Alex has now become as dominant as Lorena, and as a result the scene is much more interesting and intense. It was gteat to see Alex come alive in this part, when she had been quite passive in Part 1 - of course, as imagined by Lorena.
What might have been indicated more is some sense of what Lorena is learning from her imagined journey, and what it means for her own sense of maturity, and maybe her future relationships. What is she leaving behind and what is she now looking for ? I raise this because the most successful longer narratives in erotic film are able to deal with sadness, regret, anger as well as sexual and emotional satisfaction. The best of these - series like Unfaithful, Pink Velvet, and the ongoing saga of Jo and Eve in idreamofjo - are founded on the ability of actors like Lisa, Nella, Vera, Jo, Eve to show the dark side of love, the regret, the jealousy. Maybe that's something about Hungarian culture. The portuguese 'saudade' expresses this very well, it's a kind of longing, of melancholy. Lorena is clearly able to express a range of emotions and to take charge of a narrative, so perhaps the next step is to explore this other side, and to find actors who can match that in a number of ways.
I look forward to someone who can create a contemporary narrative, that expresses how the new generation of women deal with love, sex and all it's twists and turns in a very modern way, maybe contrasting the new with the old.

I really really have to disagree so strongly with this ! So much is down to personality, and I would be very sorry if SexArt were to revert to the standard aesthetic surface criteria. Coming late into this debate, I will just say that what I love about SexArt is that the pace and style, as well as the artists, change all the time, so we are challenged to understand and explore the personalities and emotions of the new performers. In this case the performers may be well know to some SexArt fans, but to everyone. And I make a point of not judging a performer based on her work elsewhere. Nataly Von may be well known in BG circles, but she decided to work for SexArt with her eyes open, and I loved her performance. It is increasingly common for BG 'specialists' to move into GG after a few years, because it suits their evolving personalities and interests.
This scene was very good for, I loved the opening, and once again it presented a different approach - quite, laid back, exploratory. Nataly and Tiffany worked very well together, well done !
Hi Ariel, I have come to this scene rather late after an involuntary absence. This scene particularly raises questions about the art direction, which is always a strong feature of your films. Colour-co-ordinated hair and furnishings - I love it, and presume that it is intentional. I am beginning to detect some 'theming' in the the art direction in different scenes - perhaps someone could sat something about that.

At first i was less than impressed - Kayla is not your usual blindingly pretty sexart girl, but once they started, her intensity was amazing, and they both 'bounced' off each other throughout the piece. It is really great to see new performers' sometimes they take a while to get used to, to discover their particular personalities and styles. And guess what, I like both girls ! Sandy is very cute and delightful. (PS - Kayla also worked very well in the Pool)
Lorena's development as filmmaking collaborator/actor is gathering momentum in leap's and bounds. She stands out as someone who can take control of a scene and give it unique inflections, on a par with the greats like Eufrat, Lisa, Nella, Jo etc. Sometimes I think she can be almost too playful with the material, but when it comes to it, her involvement in the sexual side is always fully committed and grounds what she does. Now I am always intrigued to see what she does.
Let's see what happens in Part 2. Of course, until recently the masters (or mistresses) of the erotic serial have been vivthomas, with series like Unfaithful and Pink Velvet, although they seem to be losing their edge at the moment. But the key to these series has always been the presence of performers who can create emotional narratives that span the series. I think that with artists like Lorena, Conroy, Tess, Eufrat etc, it should be possible.

I agree with most of what you say, Harry 7 - sometimes there is room for something less logical, more expressive. And Lorena is absolutely stunning here, quite extraordinarily beautiful and seductive - and that's the point. She really drives the film as far as it has a narrative. As to continuity, I really don't see the problem - I assume that the scenes are in sequence, there is a flow from one to the other. To have to construct an alternative narrative - meeting again the next day, or something - would completely ruin the enjoyment. So they appear to be dry in the second scene, maybe Lorena gave herself a quick rub down with the towel before they went upstairs, I honestly don't care. Film is not that literal, and we need to give the filmmaker some latitude in how detailed the continuity is. I enjoyed this because Lorena shines like a bright light, and engulfs her partner with her beauty. End of story.

Well, I understand the criticism along the lines that this is more of an artistic representation of sex and deisre, rather than the real thing. Actually, I agree, but sometimes that's OK. Lorena still manages to be very committed to the sex side, even if the outcome is not convincing orgasms. Perhaps Tracy was a bit passive in this respect. And the double dildo at the end is a bit of a let down - I am never convinced that in real life that this is a satisfying climax to love making between women (although i wouldn't know ...). But it is interesting to see that Lorena is credited as co-editor, something that puts the end result in a different perspective from the usual - in other, it is not just a male representation of female desire.
The truth is that I always welcome the variety of work coming out os sex-art, and if some of the films are more 'art' than sex, then I see that as part of the journey. SexArt seems to be emerging as something of a collective of filmmakers, which is unusual and should be welcomed. That means that there are going to be different approaches from time to time. And the involvement of the performers in the work is really interesting.

I have just watched the latest film from idreamofjo - there is a wonderful example of beautiful, untricksy camerawork, which SexArt also often achieves. hailey13, It is absolutely clear that the 'artefacts' you refer to are meant to be there - you don'y work to the high standards of cinematography that SexArt achieves without knowing exactly what is in the frame and what it is there for. I am always intrigued by the layering of perception that is often used on this site - the slow tracking from side to side, often using a reveal from behind a wall or a drape - in this case a glass edge - is a hallmark, and I think it is a good way of suggesting that we both imagine and remember what we see as we see it. The lighting, again, is always carefully controlled - the degree of flare, the different levels of saturation, texture etc - these I am sure are intended. Some people might find them distracting, but they are part of the whole 'argument' about erotic short film that SexArt seems to be exploring.

A reassuring return to SexArt form after the last, problematic, film. Alis, I always look forward to your work, it has sensitivity, intrigue and sensuality. And how good to have Eufrat. I agree with hayley13, Eufrat has a singular commitment to the sexual side, which is always exciting. Leyla is a very welcome addition, too, although she sometimes appeared to be a bit tentative. But I really look forward to seeing her again.
Whatever one thinks about the introduction - and I seem to be in a minority of one on this - it's disconnectedness from the rest of the film is one of the reasons for the lack of connection between the performers. Recent SexArt films have managed to find subtle and relevant set-up scenes that establish the mood and the basis for the relationship that is explored in the rest of the film, and this does not do that. That is one reason why Miela and Whitney struggle to find some focus for their relationship, although they try hard. If they had been able to work out some play between them about the balls and their own physicality, they would have had a better start. That's one reason why I dislike the slowmo intro - it does nothing to establish the girls as personalities who have a relationship, and it could have explored their real athletic physicality and interaction much more.

Not wanting to be the party-pooper, but the slowmo introduction was terrible - sub Baywatch or what ? It wasn't even particularly well done, and the super slowmo was just bizarre. More importantly, it did nothing to introduce us to the erotic, sensual potential of two beautiful young women exercising with the blue balls. It was as though the film had to start all over again when the slowmo had stopped. In the end, Whitney and Miela made something quite intense and beautiful, but i will do my best to forget the intro.

The idreamofjo site is part of the Viv Thomas 'empire'. At the moment most of the work on idreamofjo is 720p, but the most recent videos on Viv Thomas (part of the MetArt group) are on 1080. There are many devoted fans of Jo, and I am one of them. She has a unique style and approach. However, the pace of releases is fairly slow, with one gg and one solo each fortnight i.e. 2 gg and 2 solo scenes each month. Her site is also not part of the MetArt group, so no discounts. But she has produced some spellbinding series - and she has also appeared regularly on the best Viv Thomas films over the years. So definitely worth a try - and I don't think her work conflicts with any of the SexArt films. Both are high quality, but with a different approahc.

Cayenne and Bailey - a really intriguing combination. Cayenne is showing a lot of versatility here and on other sites: she has an unusual approach that it refreshing. Bailey is very intriguing, I would love to see more of her. An incredible physique and a lot of humour sparking through her quite demeanour. It would be good to see her in a more dominant role. Once again sexart shows that they can find performers who are intelligent and expressive, as well as very sexy. Generally, the performers are able to capture the essence of these little stories and bring them to life very convincingly.

Hi haley13, we love your posts ! So we sometimes disagree, but that's not a problem. What matters is that we care about what we watch.
Just to say, as someone who has many years of experience in film making - documentary, fiction, and cinematography - that I love SexArt because their work is so carefully crafted and produced. These films are wonderfully created mini-dramas, each one telling a short but always thoughtful story. That is why I love the the difference in intensity, focus, pace and feeling in each. We should not be talking about 'faking' versus 'reality'. There are undoubtedly real orgasms experienced from time to time, but it is unlikely that we as an audience can be sure which ones are. These girls are wonderful actors who clearly care about the clarity and authenticity of what they do, and I respect them absolutely for that. These films are not documentaries, they are wonderful little dramas that brighten my day !
II don't think it is possible within the complex processes of making a film about sex, that all the orgasms are going to be real. in the kind of careful, high quality filmmaking that SexArt offers, there will be a fair amount of changing of camera positions, shooting close ups, even tweaking the lighting, and that makes complete realism almost impossible. These are performances, and to 'perform' an orgasm in not necessarily to fake it in the sense that you use. In any case, with experienced performers, I challenge anyone to tell whether an on-screen orgasm is real or invented. Film is a construct, it is not reality.
As always, the girls are really beautiful, but with lots of personality too. Whitney Conroy is always exceptional, and here she takes on an almost driven personality - she knows what she wants and she knows that she will always get it. I agree with some of the criticisms, but I see the progression of films in SexArt as an exploration of relationships - some are very intense and others are about what happens in a relationship in the day to day. For this reason I always find them interesting and don't mind if they throw up some challenges - in fact I like that. If SexArt always tried to offer the greatest intensity, connection and sensuality each time, it would not work. Here we see a relationship where each girl is trying to get what they want, within a relationship that has its intense days and its 'ordinary' days. In a way, their different choice of dildos even expresses that !

Eufrat is a genuinely exceptional performer. For someone who has taken part in so many films across a number of sites, she has managed to mature and maintain the intensity of her performance - and the sex always comes good at the end! And Whitney is also developing a real maturity and confidence. What I am beginning to appreciate with SexArt is that you treat your performers like actresses, without burdening them with silly details and over-the-top emoting. The camerawork is sometimes quite complex - I say this as a cameraperson myself - but does not get in the way. My only thought is that the music is sometimes too dominant. It sets the mood well, but sometimes a more ambient soundscape would create more intrigue and tension.

It's true that SexArt has not changed, except (in my opinion) to keep improving and refining and constantly pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in erotica. As for VivThomas, of course it HAS changed, with Viv retiring and, as you say, the 'core' girls of his era moving on. I do think there are some potentially incredible girls now who will fill their shoes - Kiara Lord, Eva Berger, Lexie Dona, Alexa Tomas, Uma, Tracy Lindsay, to name just a few - all girls who are beautiful and have demonstrated acting ability over at VivThomas as well as here.

Hi Harryben, thanks so much for your thoughts - your reflective critique is very much appreciated, both here and on VT. It has been a time of great change at VT since Viv retired, and it is early days still for our new director, Guy. His second movie has been well received, and some of the new movies he is working on have more of a storyline, which I think will please everyone (me included!). He is a creative and innovative director, and I think inevitably that means not everything will be perfect, but I love that he intends to try new things - it would have been so easy to just copy Viv's style, but where's the fun in that! I suspect it will take a few months of ups and downs before VT really hits its stride again - but the journey will be interesting :-)

I shot on RED the intro (parking) and the slowmotion ending credits. In the first one I used RED just because I wanted to have a better and larger dynamic range, to achieve many lights levels (from the darkness to the blonde Candy hairs just under the light); the second one was shot on RED because of the slowmotion.

Excellent comments, Harryben, and I agree completely. Most "adventure and action" pornography that tries to exploit the "sex and violence" audience comes off as either boring or comical. Usually, just boring. This one is pretty much both. For me this chapter fulfills my worry that the series might devolve into the "macho" guy thing of seeing sex as primarily about power: domination, manipulation, subjugation, and humiliation (and not just of women as this chapter underscores). Not my thing. The production values are great,Isabella and Lena are hot (with the type of stand-up nipples I usually love), the music is in keeping with the theme of the film, and the subtitles really do work for me. But, the plot is so preposterous, silly, and unintelligible, it does nothing EXCEPT to reinforce the 1) set-up for macho sexual domination and 2) the stereotype that most (well, some) Eastern European men are brutish thugs and some Eastern European women are conditioned to cater to them. (Maybe Sarajevo and Bosnia are still too fresh in mind). However, I'm sure some members will love it for the exact reasons I've just outlined. However, for me this film gets 2 limp dicks down. So, okay, let the firestorm begin.

IMO what is happening with the "Rating dispute" is similar. For most members the viewing of the most beautiful women in the world is our reason for being here. No matter what their rating most of us view EVERY model. Does ANYONE not view a model who isn't a 9 or above. (I doubt it.) Thus this whole issue is a sideshow. The bottom line is if Met itself is comfortable with how the ratings work then it is NOT a problem. So just maybe we should all chill. By now they are aware there is SOME concern by a very vocal, probably minority, of members. So let them handle it...

When I would tell adult industry website owners about our involvement with Zalman, they didn't even know who he was. This lack of care about the roots of erotic filmmaking says a lot about the state of most porn on the market, especially made for internet porn.
I try to stay out of each directors creative process and only discuss guidelines in broad terms. These guidelines are mostly regarding the authenticity of what's being portrayed on camera. SexArt is not the biggest Glamour site (as the industry calls it) in the market, but I do believe we have done something bold here.
SexArt is receiving more and more submissions from filmmakers around the world, so stay tuned, you will continue to see more and more diverse opinions on what erotic film is.
