I hope there will be a movie edition of this. Fuck love it they're perfect
So, Soko is cute enough. But this is another still set where the female model has her eyes closed the entire time (I spotted one shot with both eyes half open and one shot with one eye half open). For me this gives a couple of possible impressions: 1) "Oh, I'm so into being fucked by this guy that I'm going all passive and just let him do it and I'll just bask in it", OR 2)"Oh, shit, I really don't want to be here with THIS guy, but I signed a contract, so I'll just close my eyes and 'This Too Shall Pass'". OR 3)"The photo/director told me to shut my eyes saying it would make everything ever so much more sexy, and, hey, what do I know, I'm new" OR4) "Let's make a movie with as little chemistry between the actors as possible." And three out of the four are not good and I'm not sure what was aimed for here.
In each case what we end up with is an instance of the transitive verb "fuck". Transitive in that it's an action verb that acts on an object. The cat eats the rat. He fucks her. The rat and her are objects acted upon. This is instead of 'fuck" as an intransitive verb, meaning the subject is doing the action without an object. "I run; I'm running" "I fuck" I'm fucking". Now it seems to me when fuck is a transitive verb and "He" is just fucking "her", it makes for lousy chemistry. And much historic porn has had the lady be an object just for "him" to fuck "her. What has made SexArt different is the use of the intranstive version of "fuck". He is fucking; she is also fucking; and they are fucking actively together, making for (often) wonderful chemistry, even showing some loving moments.
The problem with this set is that it's a transitive fuck. He is fucking her. Period. She is passive, distant, getting fucked, as an object. At least for the most part. Even when she blows him, it's with her eyes closed and there is no engagement. Let's have more INtransive fucking, more interaction and reciprocity, and engagement, and, therefore more chemistry. I think that's what most of us want to see and, vicariously, experience here. At least I do.
I want to apologize if all that sounded way too pedantic and whiny. I hope it makes sense.
Man this one must have pissed you off. I went back and reviewed the pics again and you are probably right. I didn't review the two other sets to see if this is a "chronic" problem will do that later today. In part that is why I asked for a movie. I think it would tell us a lot about this couple. I do wonder how much of the eye contact was Matt's fault.
Not pissed off at all. I just think that it could be so much better if there was eye contact and interaction between the partners, rather than the old man-fucks-passive-girl theme.
I went back and checked, actually both you and I have bitched about Soko and about Matt before about the apparent disconnect and the eye thing. Actually the eye thing shows up in more of Matt's other sets than just with Soko. So I now agree totallly and think this is a chronic problem. He obviously didn't pay any attention to our posts from earlier sets.
swplf2, I don't want to start any fights with or between anyone. Too much of that has occurred here. I just wanted to draw a distinction between the, well, transitive and intransitive aspects of "doing" sex. For me, interaction between partners makes for more interesting and artistic statements. I do think there is a place for statements about sex that have aloof partners, as if they are off in some dreamy place while engaging in sex. Generally, they are not MY favorites, but others may like them. Matt and his models are free to create beautiful images in any way that pleases them. And they are free to listen to (or not) and embrace (or not) any comments any of us have to offer on their work. Pax.
I simply agree, on his il e fine.
So far Matt has done a very good job with Soko. She is so young! Since all three of her B/G are with York I would guess they are a real couple and their passion for one other shows. I am glad they trust Matt enough to share it with us. Let's get a movie of this pair. Their connection should work well.
